What is a PFD?

A PFD is a Person Flotation Device or Life Jacket. Everyone on the river is required to wear a PFD. The DWR (Division of Wildlife Resources) does patrol the river and you will be given a ticket if you are not wearing a PFD. Even if you know how to swim. Everyone wears a life jacket when you come float the river with us and we highly recommend wearing one any time you are on the water. Our shuttle drivers are trained to check every life jacket to make sure it is worn correctly. Everyone’s PFD is checked before they are allowed to get on the water. The jacket will feel tight if it is on right. It will not be able to slip off over your head when pulled by the shoulders.
Our life jackets are all Coast Guard Approved. We have a variety of sizes:

Our blue life jackets are what most adults use when they float the river with us.
